Blushing DressesNow that our warm weather has finally arrived, dresses are a fantastic summer option – I mostly live in column or maxi dresses when it gets hot. My office is super warm – with the cross breeze and  a window fan it’s okay, but it definitely requires lightweight clothing! If you’re like me and love dresses for summer, here’s my favourite list of places to look (and most everything is on sale!):

Blushing Boutique – Shelley Klassen has a gift for dresses and I can almost always find something for myself and clients alike. She’s got a good size range, with small being about a 2-4 and her extra-large being about a 12-14. Stretchy fabric, 4-in-one designs and low maintenance, non iron styles make for a very easy dressing day! Even better, she’s got a sale on right now! https://www.blushingboutique.com/

Plum Clothing Co. – They really get women at this company and are totally customer focused. They do a great job of dressing all kinds of bodies and they do it with heart. Sizes here go to 14.  Claudia Augusti is the in-house designer and much of their stock is Canadian-made. A local institution with stores in Kelowna and Calgary too, they rock it when it comes to easy dresses, especially if you love pattern. http://www.plum.ca/

The Bay – Lately the Bay has undergone a bit of a makeover, especially on the 3rd and 4th floors. There are a ton of classic work-type dresses, from Jones New York to Calvin Klein and Anne Klein as well as a bit funkier and more designer stuff too. If you’re looking for work dresses, this is a great place to find ones with sleeves or good shoulder coverage (no spaghetti straps!). They carry all sizes from 0-24, with the new Toni line just coming in and Ralph Lauren Woman too. Check out their downtown location for great deals and you can see their selection online as well.

Nicole Bridger – I love Nicole’s stuff. Also ethically sourced and local, NB does a great job of super comfy and stylish combined! I have practically lived in the Strength Dress and the Calm Maxi Dress this summer. I really enjoy this line because you can dress it up and you can wear it to the beach too! Sizes from 1-4 (0 to approximately 22). Breathable, non-iron, low maintenance, yay! https://nicolebridger.com/

Malene Grotrian Design – Malene’s new bamboo shift dresses and tops/wraps you can wear in many different ways help to create several looks from one or two pieces. Easy and comfortable and also in lovely bright colours this season. http://www.malenegrotrian.com/

For my extra curvy luscious ladies, I love LUCY! This store is in Langley, on the Fraser Highway and well worth the trip! The Magic Dress alone is worth it. Lots of styles and colour to choose from that help you ‘ride the curves, don’t hide the curves’! https://www.lucyclothing.ca/dress-shop/

That’s it, that’s the scoop! Please comment below if you know another store that’s great for dresses and please include the size range too. I’d love to see pictures of you in your summer dresses too, so please post them on our Facebook page and let us know where you found them! https://facebook.com/LazarukConsultingInc

Stay cool!
